Advanced Hoodoo: Working the Roots A 9-week immersive course in developing, deepening, and practicing your personal Hoodoo tradition. Advanced Hoodoo is the next step for students who have completed foundational study and are ready to move beyond learning about Hoodoo into deeper, hands-on personal practice. Building on the work established in Hoodoo Foundations, this course takes students further into rootwork, traditional tools, spiritual preparations, ancestral connection, discernment, and personal ritual. Students will learn through active practice, including working with herbs, roots, candles, oils, spiritual waters, and other traditional materials. We will explore how to create spiritual oils and preparations while deepening practices such as cleansing, protection, grounding, spiritual hygiene, shadow work, divination, and spiritual discernment. A major component of Advanced Hoodoo is developing a personal Hoodoo practice rooted in ancestry, place, experience, and intentionality. Students will also learn how to research their genealogy, explore family migration patterns and ancestral regions, and use that information to better understand the cultural landscapes connected to their lineage. Throughout the course, students will begin building their personal Hoodoo toolkit, establishing spiritual routines, documenting their work, and developing a working practice that reflects their own relationship with Hoodoo. Hoodoo Foundations gave you the roots. Advanced Hoodoo teaches you how to work with them. Enrollment is limited to students of **Black American/African American descent with documented DNA lineage ties**. Students must honor Hoodoo as a living cultural tradition and approach the work with respect and integrity.
